Las Encinas Hospital in Pasadena, California offers a variety of Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) for adults and adolescents. These programs are provided in an outpatient setting and are designed to teach patients skills to help manage the symptoms associated with behavioral health disorders such as depression and chemical dependency. A supportive therapeutic environment allows patients to receive structured and intensive support to remain safely in their community, work, or school environment.

Treatment Team

Patients in our IOP programs are treated by a team of clinicians including a psychiatrist, registered nurse, therapists, and chemical dependency counselors. These clinicians provide individualized interventions within a group setting to help each patient meet his or her specific treatment goals.

Treatment Plan

All patients have the opportunity to participate in the development of their own treatment goals by discussing their symptoms with their therapist and communicating what they would like to accomplish while in treatment.  This information is used to formulate an individualized treatment plan which the therapist then reviews with the patient.

Participation & Attendance

A variety of therapeutic and educational groups will be provided in our IOP programs.  Active participation and commitment by the patient is essential to the recovery process.  If for any reason a patient is unable to attend the program as scheduled, he or she needs to contact the hospital. Regular attendance is an expectation for participation in any Las Encinas outpatient program.
