PARTIAL HOSPITALIZATION (PHP) AND
INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT PROGRAMS (IOP)
Aurora Las Encinas Hospital in Pasadena, California offers a variety of Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) for adults. These programs are designed to teach patients skills to help manage the symptoms associated with behavioral health illnesses such as depression and chemical dependency. A supportive therapeutic environment is provided in which patients can prepare for their return to their community, job or school.
Treatment Team
While attending PHP or IOP, patients are treated by a team of clinicians including a psychiatrist, registered nurse, therapists, and chemical dependency counselors. These clinicians provide group and or individual interventions to help each patient meet his or her individual treatment goals.
Treatment Plan
All patients who attend PHP or IOP are asked about their symptoms and what they would like to accomplish while in treatment. This information is used to formulate an individual treatment plan which is reviewed with each patient.
Participation & Attendance
While enrolled in PHP or IOP, a variety of therapeutic and educational groups will be provided. Active participation and commitment by each patient is essential to the recovery process. If for any reason a patient is unable to attend the program as scheduled, he or she needs to contact the hospital. Regular attendance is expected to remain in a treatment program.
